Evolution the big lie!? - Joachim Bublath(Chemist&Physicist)

Rosetta@Home

Finally a new post with something a bit less superficial. In fact this is very important and everyone should get one of this:

Rosetta@home

Download this and install it on every computer that you can run this on. As interesting and exciting as let’s say SETI@home is, this surpasses it by an order of magnitude. You can download Rosetta@home here.

Merry Christmas

Posted in Atheism, Science by Administrator on the December 12th, 2006

Got in the e-mail not sure of the original source:

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist (except maybe in Japan) religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the population reference bureau). Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second at an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, which comes to 108 million homes, presuming there is at least 1 good child in each. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stocking, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, (more…)

Nitro Engine Tuning.

Posted in RC BattleZone, Science by Administrator on the November 28th, 2006

I finaly found an article on notri engine tunning.

http://www.rchobbies.org/cars_eng-tuning.htm

I am so going to go through this and get the sucker going right…

I am tempted though to build a nitro fuel injector that hooks up to the output shaft of the engine for the feedback. I think that would make for a great graduate project in numeric controls.

A researcher uses his understanding of the human brain to advance on a popular quiz show.

Check out this article in SEED.

This is rather amazing. An the best part is that it’s very applicable. I would watch for publications authored by this guy or anyone from his research department.
